Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center (OCVJC)

Founded in 2000, Ohio Crime Victim Justice Center's (OCVJC) mission is to ensure that Ohio state and federal crime victims are treated with fairness and respect for their safety, dignity, and privacy during the criminal justice process, they are informed of their rights, their voices heard, and the rights they choose to exercise are protected and enforced.

To fulfill its mission, OCVJC provides no cost legal representation to enforce crime victims' rights and victims' rights training to justice system officials and allied professionals in all of Ohio's 88 counties. OCVJC has provided no cost legal assistance to protect and enforce the rights of nearly 3,000 crime victims.

Our attorneys and advocates provide the following services:
Education to crime victims on their specific rights Representation of victims in criminal court
Training for victims, criminal justice officials, victim advocates, SANE nurses, and the community across the state of Ohio
Investigation of victims' rights violations
Referrals for victims and survivors to applicable resources for additional assistance
Assistance to victims with preparation of impact statements and restitution paperwork
Title IX cases with an accompanying criminal case
