Columbus Financial Empowerment Center

The City of Columbus and Jewish Family Services have launched the Financial Empowerment Center (FEC) to provide free financial counseling for everyone 18 and older in the Columbus area. Professionally trained FEC Counselors can help you build a personal plan to improve your financial security by building savings, boosting credit scores, decreasing debt, and opening a safe, affordable bank account. FEC Counselors are here to listen to your financial goals and help you achieve them, no matter how many sessions it takes, all completely free.

To schedule your FEC session:
- Create an account in Wayfynder and submit the intake form with “FEC session” or “financial counseling” to request your first session.
- An FEC Counselor will contact you to schedule your session and provide more information about the program.
- Attend your first FEC session to establish your financial goals and build a plan to meet them.
- Schedule your follow-up session with the same FEC counselor at the end of your first session.
